Comfy Cozy Critters Pet Sitting – Legal Agreement

  • Payment in full is due on the date service begins or within 5 days of the completion of services or there will be
    a $20.00 late fee. A deposit may be required.
  • In the event of additional unforeseen visits or other costs (such as food, supplies, or vet fees), payment is
    expected within 14 days of the completion of services         or a late charge of $20 will be applied.
  • All returned checks will be charged an additional $20 service fee and the client must pay the entire invoice and
    all fees promptly via money order or paypal.
  • A fuel surcharge may be applied to visits greater than 15 miles from sitter's home.
  • Clients must cancel scheduled visits prior to sitters arrival at client's home by phone or the visit will still be
    charged.
  • All sitting reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance to allow time for initial consultations between
    owner and sitter. Reservations by returning clients may be accepted at the sitter's discretion.
  • All pets (where appropriate) must have a veterinarian and must have current rabies and other vaccinations.
  • Pet Sitters can not diagnose, give prognoses, or make therapy decisions, nor offer veterinary services. Any
    medical concerns will be referred to a veterinarian.
  • Pet Sitters will not sit for acutely ill animals or those with uncontrolled medical conditions and suggest the pet
    be boarded with a veterinarian.
  • Pet Sitters cannot accept aggressive animals.
  • Pet Sitters will not walk unruly or untrained dogs. This is left up to their discretion. All dogs must be walked on
    a leash, no exceptions.
  • Pet Sitters will not be held responsible for pets with unsupervised access to the outdoors including pets with
    electronic fences.
  • Pet Owner is responsible for pet-proofing house and yard, and the security fences/gates/latches and ensuring
    fresh batteries in electronic collars.
  • Pet Owner is responsible for supplying the necessary equipment/supplies needed for the care of their pet(s),
    and agrees to be responsible for the payment of those items if they must be purchased by Pet Sitters.
  • Pet Owner should have an evacuation plan in case of a disaster otherwise the “natural disaster emergency
    plan” will be followed by Pet Sitters.
  • Pet Sitters will not assume responsibility for injury, illness or death of a pet if Pet Owner requests other
    individuals to also care for pets while gone.
  • Pet Sitters will not assume responsibility for theft,damage or security of the home if Pet Owner gives access to
    other individuals while gone or if home is not properly secured
  • Pet Sitters will follow all written instructions as precisely as possible when caring for plants but cannot be
    responsible if results are not favorable.
  • Pet Sitters are not responsible for damage to the home beyond their control. This includes, but is not limited to
    leaks, electrical problems, and acts of nature. In these situations, the company will attempt to contact the client
    and then the emergency contacts before making a subjective decision on dealing with the problem. All repairs
    and related fees will be paid by the client, or fully reimbursed to Comfy Cozy Critters.  
  • Comfy Cozy Critters is not responsible for any damage to property of the client or others unless such damage
    is caused by the negligent act of the Pet Sitter.
  • Comfy Cozy Critters is not liable for any loss or damage in the event a burglary or other crime that should occur
    while under this contract. Pet Owner agrees to secure home prior to leaving the premises. Comfy Cozy Critters
    will re-secure the home to the best of its ability at the end of each visit.
  • Pet Sitters agree to provide services stated in a reliable and trustworthy manner.
  • Pet Owner understands that due to high volume in sits, pet sitters are assigned by the most efficient route. All
    pet sitters will be familiar with each pet's routines and needs. It will be noted on daily updates which sitter was
    present to care for your pet(s).
  • Pet Sitters will provide visits accordingly depending on pet type. Pet Sitters will visit no less than every other day
    when scheduling cat or caged pet visits. Visits everyday are preferred so that the health and well being of your
    pet can be assessed. All scheduling is contingent upon the individual pet's needs and is at the discretion of
    the pet sitter. (Read How Often Should A Cat Be Visited?)
  • Comfy Cozy Critters reserves the right to deny services or terminate services due to safety concerns, financial
    concerns, or inappropriate or uncomfortable situations.
  • Business hours: 12pm- 5pm. Visiting hours are as follows: AM Shift(6a-9a), MIDDAY Shift (12p-3p), PM Shift
    (7p-10p) services are normally completed during these times. Time specific calls will not be accepted, as
    times cannot be guaranteed. When scheduling , Pet owners must pick the shift they would like their pets
    visited. If a pet is in need of medication, it will be administered as close to the prescribed times as possible.
  • Pet Owner agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Comfy Cozy Critters, in the event of a claim by any
    person injured by the Pet.
  • Pet Owner must have legal rights to place the animals in the care of Pet Sitters, Kennels, and Veterinary
    Clinics. “Visiting” pets or animals that do not belong to the resident of the service site, must have a separate
    agreement form, accepted and signed by each rightful owner(s).
  • Pet Owner is responsible for snow removal arrangements. Visits may not be made in snow covered driveways
    and/or walkways because of safety concerns.
  • Pet Owner agrees to discuss any concerns with Comfy Cozy Critters within 24 hours of return after service.
  • Pet Owner agrees to give complete up to date information at the beginning of each scheduled visit period
    either through their online profile or through email. Information should include updates to feeding,
    medications, emergency contact numbers, trip contact number, list of people with access to the home and an
    estimated date/time of return so pet sitter may contact  to ensure their safe return.
  • Pet owner understands that pet sitters do have small children and may on occasion bring them for scheduled
    visits. If your pet is fearful of children please let your sitter be aware of this fact so they can provide the best
    service possible.
  • This agreement is valid from the date signed, and replaces any prior Legal agreements. Client agrees to any
    future Comfy Cozy Critters term changes relayed verbally to the client, mailed or emailed in writing to the client,
    or posted on our website. Client understand that this document applies to all and any future pets at all
    locations the owner designates and permits Comfy Cozy Critters to accept all future telephone, online, mail or
    email reservations and provide service without additional signed legal agreements

“Always Ready” Key Release Agreement  - And General Key Handling

  • Comfy Cozy Critters has my permission to make/keep a copy of my key(s) on file for emergency/backup
    purposes at their discretion and provide my key to pet sitters who will be providing service.
  • Comfy Cozy Critters will keep keys in a secure location with an identifying code. My keys will not be marked with
    my name, address, or pet’s names.  
  • I understand that I may cancel my membership at anytime and my key will be returned to me. A drop off fee of
    $10 may be applied.
  • Comfy Cozy Critters will not mail keys or be held responsible for keys that the client has mailed.
  • Comfy Cozy Critters will not  leave keys inside the home on the last visit, as it prevents access to my pets in the
    event I do not arrive home as planned.

Veterinary Release Agreement

  • In the event that any of my pets appears to be ill, injured, or at significant risk of experiencing a medical
    problem at the start of service or while in the care of  Comfy Cozy Critters, I give permission to Comfy Cozy
    Critters to seek veterinary service from my preferred veterinarian which is listed on file. Other veterinarians
    chosen by the pet sitter are acceptable. Pet Sitters will make every attempt to contact client prior to taking pet to
    veterinarian.
  • I understand that Comfy Cozy Critters pet sitters work hard to prevent accidents and injuries, and that such
    problems may occur no matter how well a pet is cared for. I agree to allow Pet Sitters to use their best
    judgment in handling these situations, and I understand that Comfy Cozy Critters and its staff assume no
    responsibility for the actions and decisions of the veterinary staff, the health, or death of my pet(s).
  • I will assume full responsibility for the payment and/or reimbursement for any and all veterinary services
    rendered, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, grooming, medical supplies, and boarding. Such
    payments will be made within 14 days of the initial incident. I also agree to be responsible for all fees
    assessed by Comfy Cozy Critters for emergency transportation, care, supervision, or hiring of emergency
    caregivers, and will pay such fees within 14 days of each incident.
  • I further authorize Comfy Cozy Critters and my primary veterinarian(s) to share all of the medical records of all
    of my animals with veterinary clinics in an emergency in the interest of providing the best care for my ill or
    injured animal(s).
  • This agreement is valid from the date signed and grants permission for all future veterinary care. I understand
    that this agreement applies to all of the pets within the care of Comfy Cozy Critters. I agree that I have the sole
    authority to make decisions regarding the animals that will be scheduled to receive service.
